Christopher Herrick earned a Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of South Carolina. At Muhlenberg College, he founded and directed the International Studies major and was the Director of Overseas Study. His research interests span Chinese and American foreign policy, where he applies constructivist and realist analytic approaches to explain foreign policy. He taught courses including "Government at Politics of East Asia," "International Relations Theory," "International Law and Organization," and "American Foreign Policy." He served in numerous roles advising students toward competitive scholarships and fellowships and was the Director of Prestigious Awards from 2016 until his retirement. He received the Paul C. Empie Memorial Award from Muhlenberg College, described by the college as acknowledging a member of the faculty or staff "whose teaching in the broad sense and whose service has been distinguished by a quest for meaning and value in learning."

Dr. Herrick served on the ASIANetwork Board of Directors, including one year as Chair, and has been Director of the ASIANetwork-Luce Foundation Postdoctoral Teaching Fellows Program since 2019.

A gift was made by colleagues on his retirement from Muhlenberg College, 2021.
