McJimsey Student Essay Award Application
Proposal Deadline: February 1, 2021
Award (winner): $200 prize. Publication in ASIANetwork Exchange. Registration and two nights lodging for attendance at the 2021 ASIANetwork Annual Conference to present the research during the student poster session.
Award (runners-up): Registration and two nights lodging for attendance at the 2021 ASIANetwork Annual Conference to present the research during the student poster session.
Eligibility: Undergraduate students and 2020 graduates from colleges and universities with current membership in ASIANetwork.
Paper Topic: Papers may be on any topic from any academic discipline, but must focus on South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, or the Asian Diaspora.
Length: Between 3,000 and 5,000 words
Format: Papers should include two separate attachments:
- Cover page including paper title, student’s name, name of the faculty advisor(s), institution, and student’s contact information (mailing address, phone number, and e-mail)
- Paper itself, with no identifying information other than the title included on the individual pages. Failure to meet these conditions will render the submission ineligible for consideration. Only PDF formatted documents will be accepted.
Submission: One entry per student. Papers may be submitted by the author or by a faculty member acting on his/her behalf. No evaluative comments may be presented at the time of nomination.
